Abstract:
Assuring the performance of Db2 applications is a very time-consuming management aspect of IT. End users and developers experience performance pains sometimes daily and DBAs continually struggle to adjust parameters, code and database design to improve and tune things. But the cause of most database application performance issues can be traced back to the SQL and application code. If developers better understood how to code for Db2 performance from the outset, a lot of pain and suffering could be eliminated.

In this presentation we will look at performance basics, coding techniques, SQL issues, indexing, and more, with an eye toward helping you to build more efficient Db2 applications.
